12 Days of Christmas offering No.5
VIRGO
Oh, gentle eye, quiet eye; scrutinizer
-Still gait, calm pace, restless devotion
To habit concealed but for strainéd sigh;
Casting thoughts to such turbulent notion.
Lay upon his skin, an ear, to listen.
Observe, the movement steady as a clock;
Calculated swing and sharp mechanism,
Like vanities; in casement under lock.
With little time for dreams and falling stars,
The smirk of irony does linger, pend-
-ing Vulcan’s imminent descent to mar
Earth’s bind as, t’wards flight, he all at once bends.
Of crisp capability fair and kind,
The Virgo holds, humbly, a brilliant mind.

LEO
Leo, granted, roars in fearsome fashion
And paws a quaking earth in regal pad,
In glorious raiment his frame is clad
Tis not life but lived in throes of passion
He decrees. For certes, of this, he has in
Generous measures; such feasting to be had
And this he must share; one would be a mad
Babe of August, deface such impression.
The vulnerable doth lie sheathed in lucid
Casement. As does quiver a frivol blade
To belt. No lion runs; such sight is rare,
But judge not by his expression placid;
Be sure, the fractures, frantic, they are laid
within. He hankers…hush!
Dear mother’s care.
12 Days of Christmas Offering No.4
CANCER
Lest I should scribe an almanac for thee
And etch, in ornament, such swerving guise.
No guage of thine - as balanced though’ it be -
Could measure or predict a Cancer tide.
Of pessimism cold and laughter brash
Like silver. Tender weeps deep ‘neath his shell.
Though a small child may well, with long eyelash
Fluttered, trounce and behold his armour melt
Perhaps, do not let thine reliance sit
On some doe-eyed-daughter whom cannot match,
Not in bind nor in clench, the crab claw grip
If it were thy wish to steal his proud catch.
For this, I happ’ly pour into his well,
My secrets, for release does not compel
Him.
Goodbye

Twelve days of Christmas Offering No.3
GEMINI
Mercury, she severs with a glass sheer.
Mercury, she summons ever higher.
Thus conceives the double edgéd desires
Of the twin. He who fares fairest in air.
Burden of the seeker, always to steer
Again, again to greener verge, to fire
Redder. Just round yon bend such sweet retire
Of quiet meadow mown of dread and fear.
But little of this insight might one view
‘Tis pressed upon the chest of Gemini;
Eyes a riddle save for mischievous hue.
What treasures would I dig for in such realm?
If such realm did yield to mine that pry, why!
The vast unspoken sure would overwhelm.
12 Days of Christmas offering No.2..
TAURUS
So indolent a beast to contemplate
In pasture green, serene, below the blue.
Wouldst thou e’er question so bovine a gait
To turn so fast if rage were to ensue?
Bathed beneath the light of Venus’ love
A home of stately providence be found
But wouldst thou think a stinge dwells in such cove?
Alas, to pockets wide is Taurus bound.
Though copper’s pliant attributes may well
Within him, buried, lie, ‘neath rooted hoof.
Though earnest does the metal, in him, dwell
He does not bend- heed this a solemn truth:
The Bull he rears but rare from stubborn post
But fraught are eyes to such rarity exposed.
For the 12 days of Christmas (or thereabouts) here is my daily offering. A sonnet and a drawing. Themed on star signs. The first, it reads
ARIES
Infant! All fingers and toes. I dare thee,
Summon all your innocence, hung, and strive
In earnest, some minute untruth; a lie.
Lo! Behold the softened steel. To his knees
Falls the ram without stealth to mask or greed
To qualm. Such pure flame in the baby’s eyes,
Dishonesty’s thumb sticks in such enterprise.
Not lies are spun but dreams so fancy free.
So brim’d are these that dance upon his crown
No day could stifle them; forged with red fire
The very pillow but his breeding ground.
By night will he burn; By light will he burn.
And never wouldst thou saith ‘how he tires’
The Aries mercies not for such a turn.
Goodbye for today
