India
India smells so wonderful. We wind the windows down as the taxi spins along the hectic roads, cars tooting, people clamouring; hanging washing up, cooking around little brick structures, drinking chai from small clay bowls, shooing street dogs, selling beautiful fruits. It smells spicy and is so warm on the skin.
Then we arrive at the studio disguised as a top floor apartment in a pinky building in some quieter corner of Kolkata and Jen and I stand on the balcony and try communicating with the most elegantly and colourfully dressed ladies across the roofs. Children like to shake our hands…feels a bit U2 like. But we shall ignore that, as it also genuinely means something to us all to so easily make friends. Papon and Bickram are so settling for the mind and stimulating for the creative juices. I have never felt so easy in a new persons company.
I will have pictures and videos and recordings up for you soon. For now, we are off to Goa for new year. This, as it turns out, is a crazy thing to do. We’re crazy. yeah.
